About - Max Angus
Born in Mortlake, London, Max Angus SWLA is a British printmaker specialising in hand-printed Norfolk linocuts and original artwork created in rural Kent.

Dividing time between two distinct British landscapes profoundly shapes the collection. Working extensively along the North Norfolk Coast, Max captures the unique light and movement of celebrated coastal reserves like Cley, Blakeney, and Morston. These Norfolk linocuts translate wild shorelines and local wildlife into vivid, hand-pressed layers of colour.

Meanwhile, the printmaking studio is based on the East Kent coast. The surrounding countryside directly inspires a contrasting body of work. The Kent linocuts showcase the texture, native flora, and shifting seasonal atmosphere of the local environment.

Max was elected as a member of The Society of Wildlife Artists (SWLA) and has served on its Council since 2013. The SWLA is one of the premier art societies represented by the Federation of British Artists (FBA) based at the Mall Galleries in London. Furthering a commitment to the British arts community, Max was appointed as a Trustee to the FBA / Mall Galleries on 11 October 2022.

Max's distinct linocuts have been widely exhibited at highly regarded London venues. Notable exhibitions include the Royal Academy (RA) Summer Exhibition at Burlington House, the Discerning Eye Exhibition, and the SWLA’s annual show, The Natural Eye, at the Mall Galleries.

Beyond editorial features, her artwork has been widely published as fine art greeting cards by The RSPB, Art Angels, Orwell Press, and Dry Red Press.
